sea song doneNot so many Mondays ago while attending a SIMGE-sponsored Happy Mondays event at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, this penman was pleasantly surprised by the evening’s opening outfit Corrina, Corrina, a burgeoning purveyor of Punk-Rock out of Red Bank, NJ who’s powerhouse riffing rattled the beer mug out of the most “preoccupied” patron’s grasp.

Corrina,Corrina commanded our attention from that storied stage and we’re happy to announce that the band’s enticing tendencies translate to the recorded production, namely the group’s latest single “Sea Song”, which fronts a forthcoming EP release of the same name on Asbury Park’s own Little Dickman Records.

“Sea Song” is the vehicle with which Corrina, Corrina introduces its rendition of the escapist anthem, juxtaposing the epic nautical voyages of one Christopher Columbus with modern imagery of etchings on bathroom stalls, Dutch Coffees, and references to a digital age, minimum wage, and Eliott Smith, all stylized in form that takes it’s cues from such Garden State luminaries as The Bounging Souls, The Gaslight Anthem, and our Philadelphia brethren The Menzingers.

SIMGE is proud to host the exclusive premiere of Corrina, Corrina’s “Sea Song”, which you can stream below.  Stay tuned for more on the Red Bank outfit and be sure to check them out on Halloween (or October 31st for all those non-Pagans out there) at The Stone Pony with The Battery Electric, Hot Blood and many more.  Find more information here.
