Asbury Park’s own Rick Barry is prepping the release of a forthcoming LP titled Curses, Maledictions and Harsh Reiterations for a 2014 release and this morning unveils the record’s lead single “Removing The Stitches”, a detailed snapshot of everyday existence meticulously unraveled in a desolate yet endearing manner for which the songsmith is revered.

For “Removing The Stitches”, Barry tapped an esteemed cast of artists to help present this tale of gridlocked lovers examining their relationship at a crossroads, as the renowned Allie Moss duets with the penman to provide a heart warming vocal harmony, while Chris Kuffner (Ingrid Michaelson – upright bass) and Glenn Patscha (Ollabelle – piano/accordion) help to further douse the composition in stylistic melancholia with subtle string and key arrangements.

Stream Rick Barry’s “Removing The Stitches” below and be sure see him on December 21st at The Saint as part of a holiday jam featuring such local songwriters as Arlan Feiles, Sarah Tomek, Alex Brumel, Keith McCarthy (The Sunday Blues), Lindsey Carolyn, and many more.  Doors fore the event open at 7:30 p.m. with a cover of $12 to be paid at the door.
