SIMGE Premiere: The Battery Electric – “Ovulator”

BATTERYELECTRIC_OVULATOR-itunes-2On Monday morning SIMGE unveiled “Dead Man’s Trunk”, the A-Side to a forthcoming single by Asbury Park’s own Battery Electric, which is slated to drop via Little Dickman Records on October 21st.  The track was a riff-driven delicacy of fuel-injected Hard-Rock and its B-Side, “Ovulator”, is equal in demeanor.

“Ovulator” opens with a pair of stylistic elements that have become synonymous with the metal-coated collective, as Brent Bergholm buries the listener beneath an accumulation of bone-quaking power chords, which are shaken to their foundation by the barbarous “YEEEOOOOW” of stick wielding front-man Ron Santee.

Paired with the pure horn-tossing hysteria induced by the track’s initiating measures is a middle and conclusion heavy on refrain, in which Santee sings the praise of a certain “smooth ovulator” roaming this realm of debaucherous antics…and this penman was hooked.

Stream “Ovulator” below and be sure to check out  The Battery Electric on Halloween at The Stone Pony with such SIMGE favorites as Corrina, Corrina, Hot Blood, and more.  Find more information on the event here.
