Admittedly, my knowledge of indie-pop-rock bands from Italy doesn’t extend very far. So it was a lovely, refreshing revelation when I was introduced to the prism through which early aughts, english speaking acts like The Strokes, Spoon, and Interpol were interpreted through in the trio of Candy Fish.

Veteran musicans Gianluca Rimei, Matteo Manganelli, and Valerio de Virgiliis came together under their moniker for the first time back in the fall of 2011 to record their inspired debut full length “So Long And Thanks For The Candy Fish” which achieves a focused, genuine blend of their influences and the vocal and production techniques that sets them apart from bland sonic recyclers.
