From Below

Shooting straight from the hip with a death ray of psychosis inducing brand of self described Garage-Prog, NYC based band From Below rip, rock, and roll with an impressive live and recorded acumen. Their no holds barred heavy blues rock comes in the same vein of like minded local groups such as the previously featured Robot Death Kites.

Bassist Chika Obiora shares, “Think of us as a blend of all those things plus something else entirely awesome and different such as, uh, explosions. Made by dragons. Which also punch you in the face.”

Their debut LP No Gods, No Monsters was recorded live in studio with five or less takes per song putting the onus on capturing their raw energy versus fretting and sweating the small stuff. This refreshing take on an ethos that has been otherwise incorporated into selling Vans or Ray Bans or some shit naturally subverts a litany of genres with piercing jabs of distorted doom while Cero Cartera’s reverberating wail sets the scene.
