Switchblade Cheetah

Now this is what good garage-punk is supposed to sound like. Burning up from down south in Tallahassee, FL, Switchblade Cheetah recently released their latest lo-fi opus, Chapel of the Bitch, back in May via Workerbee Records and Goat-Fi Records.

The album is led by single “All That Blood” which is a rollicking glam-fuzz rock number in a similar vein to Ty Segall but still altogether Switchblade Cheetah’s own. There’s a moment in the chorus where the vocal drops out for a moment, not unlike a fist-cocking backwards, before the follow through punch of “BLOOD!” Love it.

To help intro Switchblade Cheetah a little better, we had the band’s Brian the Wolf take the SIMGE Survey. Check out his responses while streaming “All That Blood” below.

Name: Brian the Wolf
Band: Switchblade Cheetah
Instrument(s): Vocals and Drums

What sound(s) do you/your band make?

Spahn Ranch betamax static.

If you could have anything fall from the sky what would it be and why?

Fallen angels to groove with.

When I was a kid I used to love to…

Fry my brains with horror flicks that I rented from the grocery store..

An embarrassing phase in my life was when…

I didn’t realize that I’d lived this life a thousand times.

The 1st album I purchased:

A bootleg cassette of songs from old biker flicks.

The last album I purchased:

Del Shannon – The Further Adventures of Charles Westover.

My biggest insecurity:

I worry that my ego is too small.

You can easily win me over by…

Purchasing multiple copies of our latest album, Chapel of the Bitch, out on Workerbee Records! http://workerbeerecords.bandcamp.com/

Sometimes when I feel narcissistic I listen to Switchblade Cheetah because it’s my band.

After a show people compliment me most on my…

Vibrations.

Something most people don’t know about me is…

I’m in an experimental noise band called Neon Lushell.

The band (artist) that altered my perception on life is Roky Erickson because he invaded my thoughts.

If not for music I would probably…

Go back to running street hustles.

What are your favorite song lyrics?

The lyrics to the “Don’t Panic” title track (80s horror flick).
