We Are Ardent

It’s been documented to death by now; the bastardization of what was once outsider’s music by mainstream bros with misplaced aggression to get out. I’m talking, of course, about the transition from 90’s grunge, to radio alt-rock, to (shudders) nu metal.

Hailing from the Great White North, four piece We Are Ardent take inspirations from grunge Gods of yore incorporating their own unique stylistic choices for a more modern flair. Josh Brazeau and Kat Kerley trade vocal duties with South African inspired polyrhythms setting the pace for a thunderous alt sound. Kerley also may be on record as the first to utilize a Kalimba in a band this heavy.

We had We Are Ardent take the SIMGE Survey to learn more about what makes them, well, them. Be sure to check out their responses and stream single “Low” below.
