Eastern Anchors

It’s been a hot minute since we last caught up Red Bank, NJ based rockers Eastern Anchors. Returning from a brief dormancy, the band is now prepping their latest endeavor in conjunction with Nefarious Records and EA’s own Viva! La Hara imprint.

Set to ship on August 12th, Eastern Anchors combines forces for New Brunswick’s Zero For Conduct for a rollicking split 7″ with the bands contributing “Above Your Station” and “Average Marks Make Shitty Sparks” respectively. The 7″ run is limited to 500 copies with a release show set for August 15th at the Court Tavern along with The Milwaukees, Duochrome, and 4444.

Along with the 7″, Eastern Anchors set about recording a narrative visual companion that highlights a working girl who’s just trying to make a buck without the guff. The video for “Above Your Station”, directed by Pete Bune, follows Eastern Anchors’ crushing sound to cultural locations like the Cinema Arts Centre, 112 Video, and Escape Pod Comics as the struggle becomes more and more real for our female protagonist.

Here’s hoping we have more powerful tracks in this vein to look forward to as the band gears up for their next LP TBA 2015. This will just have serve to satiate appetites for now.

Watch “Above Your Station” below and be sure to pre-order the split 7″ here.
