24 Hour Songwriting Challenge

Hello! It’s my pleasure to once again announce the date for the Annual 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge, now in its third year, as presented and organized by Speak Into My Good Eye.

If you have followed the challenge in its first and second year, you likely know by now that it is a labor of love showcasing the wonderful talents of the Speak Into My Good Eye tri-state area home scenes. Same as in the first two years, solo artists and bands are tasked with conceiving, writing and recording a new original song from start to finish in just 24 hours.

What’s different this time? Well, we’re announcing it now as opposed to July to give everyone as much advance notice as possible to, hopefully, bring about even more submissions than the last two events combined. I’m also happy to share this year’s beneficiary of the proceeds from the challenge, City of Angels NJ.

So, what do you need to do to get involved with the 3rd Annual 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge? If you’re a songwriter or in a band, hit me up at speakimge@gmail.com and I’ll add you to my list of confirmed participants. All you need to do is set the day or however long it takes you to record a new song in the preferred space of your choice and send it to me by midnight. If you’re less musically gifted, I’m open to any number of creative collaborations. Last year, my Grandmother submitted a poem she wrote in less than 24 hours which we included on the final Bandcamp page.

Oh! I should probably share the date. Saturday, October 1st! On behalf of the whole SIMGE family, thank you, and can’t wait for the results of another great 24 Hour Songwriting Challenge.
