The Everymen

You’ve seen us discussing it, possibly ad nauseum, but the impending closure of legendary New Jersey music institution Maxwell’s in Hoboken has us feeling more and more anxious as we approach the very last note played. Back on July 12th, Northern NJ’s The Everymen enjoyed their final bow at Maxwell’s starting and playing well into July 13th.

As is typically case with the Garden State’s finest house party band, The Everymen featured a series of crowd pleasing covers including Bruce Springsteen’s “Ain’t Good Enough for You,” Midnight Oil’s “Beds are Burning” with saxophonist Scott Zillitto on vocals, Bob Dylan’s “I Shall Be Released,” and Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.” The latter two renditions were recorded for posterity and have been compiled into the video below.

Watch The Everymen cover “I Shall Be Released” and “Rockin’ in the Free World”, and read Jim Appio’s full coverage from the band’s last night at Maxwell’s.
