Above is the image that greets you when logging onto The Postal Service’s official website, marking the first update we’ve received since rumors began to swirl of the defunct project’s imminent return.

Shortly after, Billboard published a story confirming that Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello’s reunion in 2013 will include, ” a “Give Up” deluxe edition and Coachella appearance, among other tour dates.” “Give Up” will celebrate it’s tenth anniversary in February.

The story further details:

“(…) the band is indeed booked to play this year’s festival, according to three sources who confirmed to Billboard. Additional dates and festivals are also in the works.”

So obviously this means The Postal Service are going to hop into the studio, fresh with ideas after an invigorating summer tour. Well, not so fast.

As Gibbard detailed a few months ago to Spinner, “There are no plans to make a second [Postal Service] record…I can’t say that enough.”

Here’s hoping the Death Cab For Cutie front-man changes or has changed his mind since then.
