The Wisconsin grime-rock purveyors that compose The Rashita Joneses were the beneficiaries of a happy accident – or rather painful and bloody one – during the recording of its latest single “White Wave”…but frontman Jeff Grabo tells it best.
“When we were recording ‘White Wave’, we thought it would be a good idea to bring Phil’s [Hoge – drummer] dog around, but I guess our jamming was so loud it upset the dog. After sklounstin around I went to pet the dog and she whipped around, and sunk her teeth right into my hand.”
“While it was all swollen and bloody we decided to finish writing the song. I was playing a little differently and it actually led us to something cool. We decided to record the song that night…Good thing we did too because the next day I could barely move my hand without pain and had to take a few days off.”
The results were a ferocious rock n’ roll concoction made for for shaking and quaking your neighborhood basement or bomb shelter to its foundations, but destined for something much bigger.
