As part of an excellent ongoing video series, local recording space Eight+Sixteen Studios has been inviting a litany of luminary songwriters to sit down and discuss and display their craft. Following an earlier episode featuring Cranston Dean, the studio recently welcomed Accidental Seabirds‘ Jesse Lee Herdman.
The Seabirds have been in full pre-release mode leading up to their forthcoming new album, so the video piece, which also features Thomas Wesley Stern’s J.T. Makoviecki, serves as some of the first formal clues of what to expect outside of catching a recent live show. The performance features Herdman unveiling an untitled song that will appear in full band format on the upcoming record.
“We are in the final stages of mixing the album now, and I’m working on the artwork,” said Herdman in a message to SIMGE. “We haven’t set a release date, but I believe we can put the record out when Anthony returns from Hawaii in late August, but we’ll probably wait till September so we can plan ahead and have an awesome release party.”
Your next chance to catch Accidental Seabirds comes this weekend when they’ll headline the (free) 3rd Annual Soulsational Music & Wellness Festival at Veterans Park in Bayville, NJ on July 27th 11am-8pm.
