Albany rockers Hard Soul haven’t pulled back on the gas pedal since the release of their debut LP Heart of Plaster. Their rigorous touring schedule will see them hit all the major and in-between music ports in the North-East with a date at the Brighton Bar scheduled for August 26th.
It’s that same life on the road experience that birthed the band’s second single off the record, “Never Be”. The words to the quiet to loud track came to Hard Soul frontman and songwriter Johnny Salka outside of the Stony Brook train station on Long Island during a pit stop on the band’s 2013 summer tour.
“There was a moment of solitude in the van during the normally privacy-free tour environment where I found myself documenting some of the previous days shows” said Salka “and from there the lyrics just fell onto the page”.
“Never Be” now comes with a colorful visual companion which you can stream below. Check out the video and catch Hard Soul on tour with their full run of gigs listed here.
