Have you ever messed up? Have you ever felt like the world was ending?
Indie-rock duo Brick + Mortar are reaching out to everyone who can relate to this and they’re reassuring them that they’re still good souls, no matter what they’ve been through.
They illustrate this in their new video, “Staying Gold,” where we see an ill teenager in a hospital bed. Slowly, the video rewinds to the past, showing us his life when he did normal things like every other teenager – causing mischief with his friends, skateboarding around the suburbs and partying with girls. This shows us how powerful it can be to have good friends in your life, as he’s truly himself when the people he loves surround him.
I’m sure we can all relate to that feeling of relief and freedom when we’re with the ones that make us forget about all the bad stuff.
Watch the video and make sure you have a box of tissues nearby. The haunting electronic track is from Brick + Mortar’s new EP, Dropped, out now.
