Since first featuring SKATERS in February of 2013, tailing them to Lollapalooza later that year, and being blown away by the Brooklyn outfits punk snarl and pop sensibilities on its debut full-length Manhattan (2014) there’s been some changes followed by prolific period of songwriting.

On the back of that introductory timeline, SKATERS has parted ways with its major label partner Warner Bros Records and in the process penned somewhere in the ballpark of 50 new tunes, a portion of which will appear on a forthcoming collection of lengths, titles, and release dates unknown.

However, one of those cuts, “Mental Case”, has been unveiled and with a coinciding musical picture show featuring Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development and Ilana’s doppelganger on Broad City) and the group’s ability to intermingle its talents for the infectious pop-rock concoction with such an accessible story lines as a heart break and the affects it has on your mental state and walk to work…not to mention a concluding inspirational missive.

Get a feel for the depth of SKATERS’ creativity by streaming “Mental Case” below and catch the outfit live when it takes to the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on Nov. 19th.
