Charly Bliss are taking all the best things about 90s alternative and bringing them right back to our precious ears. Their video for “Ruby” is simply charming, sweet, and just slightly off-center in the nicest way.
Set on a true-to-form old school public access TV show, the band can be seen playing “Ruby” and random special guests show off their weird talents. It’s all fun and games until blood begins to spill from everyone’s mouths. Like I said, charming.
The song itself is carried through with addictive pop hooks and grunge-fueled guitars – a combination that is too wonderful to ignore. Eva Hendricks’s voice is reminiscent of great female fronted acts of the 90s. Charly Bliss has even opened for legends like Veruca Salt, Sleater-Kinney and Tokyo Police Club.
You can check out the video for “Ruby” below, and be sure to catch the band on tour when they come to a town near you.
