New Brunswick rockers Modern Chemistry are lifting themselves up out of the Hub City’s lauded basement scene once yank of the heart strings at a time. It started with an exceptional short-form collection of emotionally-charged anthems in 2013 titled We’ll Grow Out Of This, and continued the following year, when the group commanded the attention of such genre titans as Taking Back Sunday, Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance) & The Celebration, and The Menzingers, among others with Self Help Guide For Being Alone.
Modern Chemistry recently surfaced again to provide the cinematic treatment to “Cling”, a single from its 2014 effort, which tackles the long-contested notion of young lovers with distance between them, the grains of time slipping away, and the haunting question that lingers: Is it all worth it?
Check out Modern Chemistry’s Scott Siracusano-directed musical picture show below and be sure to check them out alongside fellow lauded locals like Brick+Mortar, River City Extension, OWEL, and more on the Downtown Stage in Seaside Heights for the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover Festival in Seaside Heights on June 6th.
