Milwaukee may not be the first, or second, place you might associate as a rising hip hop hotbed, but the We R The Lost collective is here to change that notion. Although that was never intention up front.
Led by Jon Briggz, who decided to eschew the party loving route and get more political, We R The Lost rises from the ashes of former project The Lost which produced two mixtapes and countless freestyles recorded over a two year period. Now with a deeper focus, Briggz and We R The Lost operate with inspiration from the underground giving a voice to the voiceless.
Recently, Briggz dropped “The Times” which discusses the still rampant issue of racial profiling and police brutality. Sonically, it’s a close cousin to the Kanye-led production on Travis Scott’s banger “Upper Echelon.”
