Your Guide To Jersey Shore Festival: SIMGE’s Showcase, Local Performances Not To Miss + More To See At Seaside

On Wednesday afternoon, Jersey Shore Festival, the Seaside, NJ musical rendezvous which will embark on its sixth consecutive installment this weekend (May 17th-18h), unveiled its official programming schedule, highlighted by SIMGE’s own showcase on Saturday evening at Jimbo’s Bar & Grille.  Check out the full roster of events, as well as SIMGE’s guide to Jersey Shore Festival, below:

THE MAIN EVENT – SIMGE PRESENTS ON SATURDAY NIGHT:

On Saturday evening SIMGE will transform Jimbo’s Bar & Grill into a Rock N’ Roll haven inserting a lineup featuring The Black Jesuses, a Blues-Rock duo from Asbury Park featuring Sam Bey and Dave Rosen of the renowned riff-driven Parlor Mob and  Boardwalk Indie-Rock luminaries Sikamor Rooney.

SIMGE has also tapped Plus Plus Minus, the Red Bank-based Stoner-Rock collective featuring Puppy Mills (Quinn English) of The Gay Blades on drums, as well as local Folk-Rock maestros Accidental Seabirds, the bohemian Delta-Bluesmen in The Blind Tellers, and Asbury Park’s The Drive Home featuring frontman of The Amboys, C.M. Smith, on lead vocals and guitar.

As are all the performances at Jersey Shore Festival, SIMGE’s showcase is a free event.  Doors for this exploit open at 6 p.m. with music slated to begin at 8 p.m.  Find more information and RSVP to the event here.

MAXIMUM VIBE STUDIOS’ DOUBLE BILLING (Friday/Saturday)

Local ivory tickler and Pop-Rock auteur, Matt Wade, fronts the Brick, NJ-based recording center Maximum Vibe Studios, and the house of tracks is bringing a double bill to Jersey Shore Festival, providing opening ceremonies on Friday (May 17th) at The Aztec with such locally lauded outfits as No Risk, A clever Con, and First To Friday, as well as the Big Apple-based The All Ways.

MAximum Vibe will be back at The Aztec on Saturday evening with SIMGE favorites Vextion and End Of An Era highlighting a roster with Jester’s Revenge, and Philadelphia’s own Celtic Folk-Punk collective Weese, Paddy.

BLACK CLOUDS HANG OVER JIMBO’S (Friday)
Friday evening will see Belmar, NJ Hard-Rock purveyors, The Black Clouds, featuring Rob Blake (The Obvious, Ether Sunday) on drums, tear down Jimbo’s Bar & Grille on Friday night alongside Ryan Vosler, Kiirsten Marilyn, Long Day Gone, and more. Music starts at 8 p.m.

A PERFORMANCE TO RESTORE THE SHORE (Friday)
On Friday Friends Of Restore The Shore presents such renowned Jersey Shore Acts as Diego Allessandro and Brendan Barnes to support the likes of Stray Cats axe wielder and Southside Johnny collaborator Tommy Byrne & Onto Smoething, Ropetree, and Always Something.

THE STATIC SUMMER ON GRANT AVENUE (Saturday)
New York City Rock outfit, The Static Summer, will return to The Jersey Shore on Saturday for the first time since opening for POD at the Strand Theater as part of the Jersey Calling Concert to aid victims of Hurricane Sandy. The group will tackle the Grant Avenue Stage at 5 p.m.
